As the 5th Street Market continues to expand, the goal is to integrate art throughout all the entities. We are excited to announce the installation of five murals at the Gordon lofts! Five Muralists were chosen to paint their original mural on a 5’x9’ plywood to be showcased on the North facing wall of the Gordon Lofts. Locals and visitors can visit the work done by Dorothy Siemens, Tess Morgan, Jennifer Andrews, River Banks, and Andrea Ciaston.

Andrea Ciaston uses her life and garden as inspirations for her work. “ The imagery for the flowers behind the butterfly is from my beloved garden... I collected, dried, photographed, and studied my flowers for weeks to prepare to paint this mural. The mixture of dead and dying flowers in the upper part of the mural and new life in the bottom of the mural is symbolic to me of our journey forward in which we choose life”.

Jennifer Andrews’ work is also influenced by nature and says her piece is inspired by “life cycles and the elements...watching a plant bend over to set seed, and the light within each one as it begins again”.

Be sure to visit their amazing work the next time you visit 5th Street!

Bennett Vineyards & Wine Co. Tasting Room show

Starting April 8th and continuing until May 9th, Bennett Winery will be hosting an unFAMILIAR FACES exhibit that features two artists and their unique approaches to abstracting the human face.

By using paint and pastel, artist Sophia Cromartie focuses on the details of a face through the use of color and texture. Cromartie’s main goal in her art is to evoke emotion through the expression of common form.

Artist Satysha Willowsong gravitates towards experimenting with an array of different mediums including oil, watercolor, gouache and acrylic painting. Willowsong also works with multimedia and digital art, opening a wide arena of creative freedom.
